How many times do you need to come to the clinic from Çayyolu for clear aligner treatment?
A patient from Çayyolu starting clear aligner treatment comes to the clinic a few times in the first stage for the examination, records and aligner delivery; once treatment has started, check-ups are usually every 6–10 weeks. Since the aligners are changed at home according to the schedule set by the orthodontist, you do not need to come to the clinic for every aligner change. Our clinic is in Park Oran Ofis in the Oran neighborhood of Çankaya, and treatment is carried out by Funda Pekyılmaz Sarıkaya, specialist orthodontist (Uzm. Dt.). The clinic uses the Invisalign system.
Which appointments take place at the start?
- Examination: The teeth, bite and gums are assessed; X-rays are requested if needed.
- Digital records: A three-dimensional model of the teeth and photographs are taken with the iTero scanner. This can often be done on the same day as the examination.
- Explaining the plan: The treatment plan prepared in the ClinCheck software is reviewed together on screen.
- Aligner delivery: If needed, attachments (small, tooth-colored bumps that help the aligner grip the tooth) are bonded, and putting in and taking out the aligners is demonstrated hands-on.
Most families from Çayyolu complete these four steps in two or three visits. You can find a general description of the process on our clear aligners in Ankara page.
Can child and parent appointments be combined?
A significant share of our patients from Çayyolu are families. If both a child and a parent need an orthodontic check-up, the appointments can be scheduled back to back on the same day; this lets you make the most of a single trip along Eskişehir Yolu. Siblings' check-ups can be combined in the same way. Simply mention how many people will be coming when you book.
For school-age children, a first orthodontic assessment is recommended at around age 7. Treatment is not always needed at this age; in some children only development is monitored, while in others early treatments such as jaw expansion or Invisalign First may come into consideration. We explain why this age is recommended in our article a child's first orthodontic examination; for treatment options, see our early orthodontic treatment page.
How can appointments be fitted around school and work hours?
The clinic is open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–20:00. Since after-school hours and Saturdays are popular with families from Çayyolu, setting the date of your next check-up at your current appointment makes things easier. Traffic on Eskişehir Yolu can get heavy in the evening, so it is a good idea to plan your departure time accordingly. Check-up appointments are often short.
How can you make it easier for a child to put in and take out aligners at school?
In school-age children, the success of treatment depends largely on the aligner being worn consistently throughout the day. A few habits that make things easier for families:
- Put a colorful, easy-to-spot storage case in the school bag and agree with your child on a rule that the aligner only ever goes into this case.
- If your child tends to snack at recess, try combining it with lunch; every snack means taking the aligner out one more time.
- If brushing after eating is not possible, teach your child to rinse the mouth thoroughly with water and put the aligner back in.
- If needed, give the class teacher a short explanation about the aligner; this helps prevent it from being left on the table at lunchtime.
Some Invisalign aligners may have wear indicators that give an idea of how much the aligner has been worn; the orthodontist also assesses these at check-ups. For more on aligner treatment for children, see our Invisalign First for children page.
How do you get to the clinic from Çayyolu?
Those coming by car usually head toward the city center on Eskişehir Yolu and then connect toward Oran. Travel time varies considerably depending on traffic and time of day. Simply enter Park Oran Ofis into your navigation app; the building is next to Panora Mall and opposite One Tower Mall. The metro line through Çayyolu does not go directly to Oran; if you use public transport, a transfer may be needed, and the most reliable way is to check current routes in the EGO Cep'te app. You can ask the clinic about parking when you book your appointment.
What should be considered for teenagers?
For middle and high school students in Çayyolu, treatment is usually planned once all the permanent teeth have come in. Since jaw development is still continuing at this age, some bite problems can be guided more easily by making use of growth. The most important issue in teenagers is consistent wear: not wearing the aligner 20–22 hours a day delays the planned movements. Students who play sports are also advised to discuss using a mouthguard during training and matches with the orthodontist. For details, see our Invisalign for teens page.
What should you do if an aligner is lost or broken?
If your new aligner is lost or broken, call the clinic first. The orthodontist will usually suggest going back to the previous aligner or moving on to the next one; which is appropriate depends on the stage of treatment. That is why it is important to keep your old aligners in a storage case after each change. In children, aligners are most often lost at school when an aligner wrapped in a napkin at lunch is forgotten; make sure there is always a storage case in your child's bag. To keep track of your aligner change days, you can use the suggestions on our aligner change schedule page.
What should you prepare for the appointment?
To book an appointment, you can call 0312 911 60 36 or write via WhatsApp. If your child has a previously taken panoramic X-ray or notes from your dentist, bring them with you. The examination can be conducted in Turkish, English, German and Russian.
