What are you really looking for when you search for braces?
When you type braces near me into your phone, you are looking for two things: a place that is easy to reach and a clinician who knows the work. In a treatment that lasts months, getting to and from the clinic matters as much as the treatment itself. Checkups are frequent, and going somewhere with a hard commute wears on you over time.
On this page we first cover the types of braces, then where clear aligners are an alternative, and finally how to get to the clinic.
Types of braces
Braces consist of small parts (brackets) bonded to the surface of the teeth and a wire that connects them. The gentle force from the wire moves the teeth slowly into new positions. There are three common options.
| Option | How it looks | Points to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Metal brackets | Silver-colored, noticeable | Durable, used across a wide range of cases |
| Ceramic brackets | Close to tooth color, less prominent | May be more fragile; color varies with the ties |
| Lingual brackets | Placed on the inner surface of the teeth, not visible from the outside | They touch the tongue and may affect speech at first |
| Clear aligners | Transparent tray, removable | Compliance is important; may not suit every case |
Which one suits you is determined by the condition of your teeth, your bite, your age, and your lifestyle. For details, see our pages on types of brackets, ceramic braces, and lingual braces.
When are clear aligners an alternative?
For many people, clear aligners can take the place of braces. They are removed for meals, the teeth are easier to clean, and the appearance draws less attention. But this convenience comes with a condition: wearing the aligners throughout the day is your responsibility. If they are not worn consistently, treatment falters.
In some cases, fixed braces are more predictable. Complex tooth movements, significant jaw discrepancies, or situations where you cannot rely on a wear routine are among them. The clinician assesses this at your consultation. Our page comparing the two methods, clear aligners or braces, covers the topic in detail.
What happens at the first appointment?
The first appointment is not a decision meeting but a diagnostic conversation. The clinician listens to your concern and examines your mouth and face. If needed, a panoramic X-ray and photographs are taken. Then you are told about the condition of your teeth, the possible options, and the general flow of treatment.
You do not have to start treatment that day. Ask questions, think it over, and get a second opinion if you want. The list of questions to ask at the consultation is useful for preparing.
How many visits to expect
Most people who search near me think about the commute from the start. They are right. Treatment does not finish in a few months; checkups are regular, and you need to make the trip each time. Try the route from your neighborhood to the clinic once; looking at a map and actually going are different. If several people in your family are in treatment, appointments can also be combined on the same day.
How to get to the clinic
The clinic is in Oran, at Park Oran Ofis (Kudüs Cd. No:1 D:21, Çankaya / Ankara). It is next to Panora Mall and across from One Tower Mall. Entering Park Oran Ofis or Panora Mall into your navigation app is enough.
On foot. For those living in Oran, Birlik, and Yıldız, the clinic may be within walking distance. The route varies with your street, so check your own way on a map.
By car. The covered parking garages of Panora Mall and One Tower Mall are within walking distance. The mall sets the fees and conditions.
By public transportation. There is no metro in the area. The Oran Sitesi minibus (dolmuş) departing from Kızılay Güvenpark and buses heading to Oran reach the Panora stop. For current lines, check the EGO Cep'te app.
If you would like to plan a trip within a wider frame, the next to Panora page describes the area. For the general framework of braces treatment in Ankara, there is the braces in Ankara page.
Daily life during treatment
In the first days after braces are placed, the teeth feel sensitive. Soft foods help. Within a few days most people get used to them. Care is needed with hard, sticky, and very chewy foods, because a bracket can come off. Brushing takes a little longer, and you will learn from your clinician how to use interdental brushes and floss.
If a bracket comes off or a wire pokes, call the clinic. Some problems can be handled temporarily at home, and some need a short visit. The clinician will tell you which; do not try to fix it yourself.
How often are checkups?
With fixed braces, checkups are usually every few weeks. At each checkup the wire is adjusted and the ties are renewed. That is why the route to the clinic should be easy for you. Checkup appointments are kept short, so they can be planned during a work break or after school.
Appointments including Saturday
The clinic is open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–19:30. It is closed on Sundays and does not operate on public holidays. For people whose weekdays are taken up by work, Saturday is useful for orthodontic checkups and first exams. For evening and weekend options, see the evening and weekend orthodontics page. Service is available in Turkish, English, German, and Russian.

This information is general in nature; the treatment that suits you is decided after an examination. For an appointment, you can call 0312 911 60 36 or write on WhatsApp.
